Growing Lava Cake: flowering time, yield and breeder specs

Seed versions of Lava Cake flower in about 8–9 weeks indoors in SeedFinder’s listings for Zamnesia, Blim Burn Seeds and Plantation Premium Seeds, and Weedmaps gives 8–10 weeks. Outdoors, Blim Burn’s and Plantation Premium’s versions finish between late September and October.1,2,3,4

Seed-company figures are the sellers’ own claims. SeedFinder says the original Lava Cake was never sold as feminized seeds, so these are other breeders’ versions.7

What the plant is like

Expect dense, frosty flowers in green and purple. Leafly’s page says growers describe a dense, bulbous structure with purple and green hues under glistening trichomes; Weedmaps describes deep green and purple buds with orange pistils, and AllBud oversized, super dense, grape-shaped olive-green buds with orange hairs.4,8,9 SeedFinder’s entry for the original describes tightly packed lime-green buds speckled with purple.7

Plant shape depends on the version. Weedmaps says grow descriptions emphasize branching plants and dense flower clusters, Plantation Premium calls its seed version compact and bushy, and Zamnesia’s feminized version is medium height with tight internodes.1,3,4

What to watch for

Moisture is what the sources flag. Weedmaps notes that indoor growing allows closer control of moisture as the dense buds fill out, and that outdoor success depends partly on suitable weather through the finish.4 Zamnesia describes its autoflower as mold resistant and rates it moderate to grow, a seller’s claim for that version only.5

Seeds and the law in the US

Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.10 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.10,11 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
